Engaging God’s World

Engaging God’s World

On Monday, September 20th, I walked into the Davis House prepared to discuss Cornelius Plantinga Jr.’s book, Engaging God’s World. I took my seat and Dr. John Basie began the session by making the point that there are four main biblical moments: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Consummation. Growing up in Sunday school, I felt like I knew all I could know about how God created the earth, man sinned, and then Jesus came to the earth …

Being Challenged…

Being Challenged…

I was not entirely sure what to expect the first time JP Moreland walked in the room for class last Thursday morning.  As the daughter of a theologian myself, I knew I had a good grounding in basic philosophy and apologetics.  When I read Moreland’s book I felt confident I understood the concepts.  Surely class wouldn’t be any harder.  I found out pretty quickly, though, one does not just breeze through Moreland’s philosophy and apologetics. …

several staff members, and some others who often associate with IMPACT 360 left Pine Mountain heading toward the original Chick-fil-A DwarfHouse in Hapeville, Georgia. We arrived there in time for breakfast and ate happily while Mrs. Trudy White told us the story of how Chick-fil-A’s chicken sandwich got its start in that very building. It was amazing to hear the …

Dr. J.P. Moreland at IMPACT 360

Hard to believe we’re ready to start the fifth year of classes at IMPACT 360! Just to keep you interested, we’ve got a little information about each module and those who are teaching them. For fun, we interviewed some of the alumni about their impressions of the professors and included some of their comments as well. Here’s the schedule for the rest of this week:

Biblical Worldview I, Sept. 16-18, taught by J.P. Moreland who will …

In our own words…

I can only imagine what the Pine Mountain police thought when three vans splashed with the IMPACT 360 logo rolled up into a field behind their precinct. Twenty-eight teenagers piled out, armed with pieces of cardboard shouting about crossing the “acid ocean” and worrying that if they didn’t get across in 30 minutes the boogey monsters would attack from the trees. Not to mention that many of the students had legs tied together, were blindfolded …
