God’s Grace is Sufficient

For so long, I have been saying “I am just trying to hold onto God’s grace”. Every time I try, I fail. I have had the opportunity this past weekend to spend several hours talking to Mr. and Mrs. Orman and Elizabeth Gwynn, former missionaries to Brazil and lifelong servants of the Lord. This opportunity was wonderful and I had a great time. They imparted so much wisdom upon me and I felt that I …

The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever…

This week emotionally has been a roller coaster.  Although I have had a lot of heartache and sadness, the Lord is Good and He works ALL things together for Good.  I am convinced of this.  I have had 30 people (including our SLC’s [Student Living and Learning Coordinator]) coming beside me and walking with me through this. Not only have they walked with me through these things, but they have encouraged (imparted courage) to me …

A case for our faith

A case for our faith

This week, in the classroom, we were blessed with the presence of Dr. Gentry. Dr. Gentry could easily be classified as the “ devil’ s advocate” . Here at IMPACT we all hold to a Biblical worldview. I think that we would all agree after these class sessions that the worldview that we hold is a loose one to say the least. This week we were confronted with the challenge of holding our biblical worldview …

Knowing comes first

Knowing comes first

Last week, our class delved into discussing knowledge, its’ origin, the redemptive principles of the Bible, and our American culture. Luckily, we boldly were lead by a professor who is both wise and hilarious, Gene Fant. Marrying his knowledge of philosophy, literature, and other fields, Fant instructed the class on the necessity of knowing God before any of us can understand the world around us; moreover in our pursuits, we became cognizant that God is …

Up next, Dr. Glenn Gentry

World & Life View IV:  Dynamic Worldview Survey, Oct. 18-20, Glenn Gentry, professor of philosophy at Columbia International University, models what he challenges his students to do: think logically and act consistently. While alumni admit they were intimidated by him at first, they learned to enjoy his prodding and challenging. Dr. Gentry was in Botswana, Africa for five years, developing church leaders. He and his wife have four children.

Personal impact – a new picture of Christ

Hello everyone,

I have been thinking today about what I was going to say in this e-mail and praying about what God wanted me to share.  I know I sent out one update this week already, but I thought another one would be appropriate.

I do nothing extraordinary. I do nothing noble. I do nothing great… on my own. I need God to do anything worth writing on this e-mail. Why waste thirty something people’s time to …

Welcoming friends on campus…

Welcoming friends on campus…

Over the weekend, we were able to welcome both prospective students and alumni. All of us were so ecstatic to finally meet the possible class of 2012! Friday night around 5pm, the students arrived. We welcomed them with open hearts and extreme enthusiasm. There were six of them: four interviewing students and two previewing students. Friday night for dinner, Mitchell Aldridge and I had the opportunity to sit with two of the interviewing students. As …

Friday fun night at IMPACT 360

A night of Catchphrase, karaoke, and a bonfire… I don’t exactly know what the prospective students thought of us, but I sure hope they had fun.  As current IMPACT 360 students, we were so excited to hear that prospective students were coming. In preparing for the night, we thought about what we really enjoy doing.

For us, Catchphrase is a sport. We get serious about the game and do not mess around. I am sure we …
