Jordan Joseph Presidential Scholar

IMPACT 360 student Jordan Joseph recently received a Presidential Scholarship from Erskine College, a Christian liberal arts college in Due West, S.C., where she will begin studies in the fall.

Joseph, a native of Forsyth, Ga., is one of two Presidential Scholarship winners and was selected from 28 students who visited the campus in March. The scholarship covers tuition, room and board, and fees and is renewable for four years of study at Erskine.

What Changed You the Most?

What Changed You the Most?

Every year at this point in the spring, I make a point of asking our students a series of questions to test what they’ve learned and how they’ve grown.  When I get to the question “So what single thing has changed you the most during your time here?” inevitably the answer is “community.”  While this answer may not be altogether surprising at first blush, what is surprising is how often the students themselves are …

Learning About Calling

Learning About Calling

Well, it’s very quiet around campus this week. Spring Break is definitely here (along with enough pollen to blanket the state of Rhode Island).  Recently, I moved into the special projects coordinator role here at IMPACT 360. It is amazing to be working with such great and talented people, and to hang out with some awesome students and call it work. Just the other day, I learned about one of our alumni working in California. …

Marching On

Marching On

Spring is blooming and the IMPACT 360 campus is booming! March has been an exciting month with many incredible professors: Dr. Len Bartlotti taught on Islam and ministering to Muslims. John Wingard taught on logic and critical thinking. Nancy Pearcy taught on Christianity within the Humanities as well as how science and faith complement each other. Del Tackett challenged us all on how God created the world and how the stamp of the trinity …

Christmas Party

Christmas Party

As the year winds down, Chick-fil-A throws a Christmas party for all its corporate employees and their families. As students of IMPACT360, we are all invited and always have a booth open to share about our program. At the party, it was nice to be able to mingle and meet members of the Chick-fil-A community. The heads of this community, the Cathy family, welcomed everyone to the party with …

Defending Our Faith

Defending Our Faith

During class with Ed this week, students were challenged to be able to properly defend what they believe. After reading “The Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel, students came to class prepared to discuss factual arguments Strobel presented in his book regarding foundational topics in Christianity including Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. One of the amazing parts of learning apologetics in class this week was seeing separate facts transform into a groundbreaking …

Building Strong Community

Building Strong Community

One way God is visibly growing the community is through Bible study. It is amazing to see the drastic change in the quality of Bible study topics from week one to now. As groups grow closer to each other, they are able to delve deeper into the lessons. There is a freedom to not strictly stay to questions in a book with Sunday school answers, but to really question what the book …
